Summary

Tennessee Pass part 3. In Progress. The south or eastern side of the Tennessee Pass route. Not yet abondoned but rusted rail.

This page is the eastern side of Tennessee Pass. The other page does the western side of Tennessee Pass starting at Dotsero. We remember when trains were continually traveling this route and it was hard for us to see it in this condition. Most signal, box and switches were in good shape a few have been vandalized. The tracks were in good shape except for the rocks. On the west side (part 1) the signals and such were in worse shape. The currently used main line turns at the Dotsero cutoff and heads up the Colorado River on the way to the Moffat Tunnel. A short few miles of the Tennessee Pass line is still used by commercial users around Gypsum but after Gypsum it is very much rusted rail.
