The Feather River Canyon is in central Northern Calif. Used by both UP and BNSF. It was an interesting trip and picturesque as you can see from the photos. The road is good although narrow in places. The Feather River Canyon is route 70. The canyon is narrow and the railroad crosses the river and road many times. For most of the canyon the RR is in plain view and at least when we were there is was busy. The road is narrow and winding so it take the better part of a day to travel the length and there are no or not much in the way of gas or food. In the photos it may be hard to see the RR grade in the trees. It is mostly single track.
